Ballarat Hackerspace will soon be running regular meetups for locals interested in the IndieWeb, personal websites, blogs, hand-coded HTML and the weird, useful, human parts of the web.

No startup pitch. No follower count. No algorithm. Just people making websites.

WHAT IS “INDIEWEB”?

The IndieWeb is a people-focused alternative to putting everything on giant platforms. The basic idea is simple:

You do not need to be a programmer. A one-page site made in a text editor counts.
